Manufacturing Connect (MC) started in 2007 out of Austin College & Career Academy, formerly known as Austin Polytech Academy on Chicago's Westside. Today, MC serves in-school youth, ages 14 - 18, as a community-based program in partnership with social service agencies and manufacturers across Chicago. MC participants:

  1. Can earn a nationally-recognized industry credential from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS)

  2. Participate in multiple work experiences, including internships, job shadows and summer jobs

  3. Learn the work-readiness and life skills necessary to succeed in today's economy

  4. Get a job that leads to a career!
