THANK YOU TO OUR FUNDERS
Manufacturing Renaissance is honored that the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership renewed its support for our Manufacturing Connect program. We look forward to continue inspire, prepare and support youth for careers in manufacturing. This grant will cover our work for the upcoming school year at Austin College & Career Academy.
Under the previous grant, which had a time frame of 6 moths, 29 Manufacturing Connect Juniors and Seniors earned industry credentials in Materials, Measurement and Safety and Computer Numerical Control Turning from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). Our youth also did Job Shadows and paid Spring Break Internships at various manufacturing companies. It is through these work-experiences that youth are exposed to the variety of opportunities that the manufacturing industry offers and are capable of really understanding what is out there, and that it's accessible.
Thanks again to The Partnership for promoting career technical education and more specifically manufacturing as a viable career for youth. We also want to extend a special thank you to the Polk Bros. Foundation and Bank of America Charitable Foundation for renewing their support for our Manufacturing Connect program. Both grants will provide the program with some general operating support specifically around organizing work-experiences and preparing our participants with soft-skills.
